After my first full week back at work I’m pooped. I’m not sure I’ll be up to anything creative this weekend however I do have to make seven party bags for one year olds without falling foul of a circle of yummy mummies, so a certain amount of creative thinking will be involved!

Although the weather seems to have taken a turn for the worse over the last few days,  summer in London is getting into full swing and there are so many festivals and fairs to go to. In particular look out for your local school fairs happening over the next couple of weeks before the school holidays.

Bonjour Mes Amis

If you happen to be in France on Bastille day, you’re going to know about it. A national holiday the French celebrate the storming of the Bastille in style with plenty of fire works, gorgeous food and, of course, plenty of wine. Bringing a little bit of France across the water you can now celebrate all things French this weekend at Borough Market and Bankside. There will be street entertainers and family activities but more importantly there will be lovely French food and bread making workshops.

Make ’em Laugh

If comedy is your thing then you have to check out the Balham Comedy Festival. Based at the Bedford pub this comedy festival celebrates both up-and-coming stand up acts and more well know comics and would be a good warm up for Edinburgh Fringe.
