Say Goodbye to Summer

hedgehogIf, like me, you are still clinging on to the last remnants of summer, it is time to have one last blast of a summer weekend before turning your thoughts to hibernation.

One More Festival

potatoNothing says ‘summer’ like a festival. By now you may have had your fill but if you can’t get enough check out Chrisp Street Festival this Sunday. There will be entertainment in the form of music, comedy and poetry, a pop up beach and pool, and food will be provided by Bite street food. And if you’ve had enough of ice cream, and the weather takes a turn for the worse, there will even be a pie and mash eating competition.

Or Maybe Two…

Totally Themes is a month long event celebrating the life of the Themes. With over 100 events, over 30 days, stretched along the 42 miles of the banks of the River Themes, you are sure to find something to enjoy. Events include River Walks, the Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Festival, Barge Driving Races, Cinema, Theatre and Music events.

Alfresco Cinema

popcornOne thing I’d like to do is go to an outdoor Cinema event. I’m not sure why as I’m a bit of a wimp and I feel the cold and I do like a comfy seat, but the whole idea seems rather romantic. Summer may be disappearing fast but there are still some brave souls out there enjoying some outdoor movies. If you’d like to join them try Popupscreens who are popping up all over the place including; Moulin Rouge and Top Gun in Lewisham this weekend, Heathers and The Devil Wears Prada in Hammersmith and The Goonies in Greenwich.
